Jones' Presence

"Surely there is no one among you who wants to see Jones come back?" Throughout the animals' reign on the farm, Napoleon and Squealer dangle the possibility of Jones' return as a constant danger, keeping most of the other animals in fear, and thus, submission. Do you think that this was a valid threat? Do you feel that, overall, the animals were better or worse off once they were in control of the farm?

  1. The threat is valid since the idea of being enslaved again as a farm animal may drive some animals to paranoia. This lingering threat also may have led some of the pigs to take leadership roles to make sure the animals were organized enough to repel that threat. They were also better off when Jones since Napolean literally turns into a dictator and becomes the very thing they all revolutionized to stop.

  2. Yes i think this is a valid threat because all the animals are afraid of Jones and the power he possesses. I feel the animals were better off when Jones ran the farm. There was more control and stability.

    2. basically the whole reason the animals turned on each other was because of the lies that the pigs had spread about the things thats been goin on. i also feel that if the pigs were not in control things would have been better.....

    1. I agree with this because atleast when jones ran the farm they weren't starved and they weren't treated as wrong when he ran the farm.

    1. i agree with you even though i think you cheated lol
but jones was a very good leader and he deserved to be "in head of all the animals."

  5. This is a valid threat. Jones was unkind and barely fed the animals. I think they were better off, though, because Napolean was a dictator who only cared about benefiting himself.

    2. I don't agree with this. The farm went downhill as the pigs took over. The rations started sinking.

  6. yes i think that it is a valid threat because he treated them very wrong. He didn't feed them. The thought of being enslaved again drove the animals to act in a paranoid state. I think that they were better of woth jone since napoleon literaly turns into a dictator and treats them unjust.

  7. I don't think it was valid. The animals were better off with the farmer. They knew their roles. The farmer never tried to oppress them like the pigs did.

    1. I agree because the man did not make them do as much work and he never gave them rules.

  11. although the animals were enslaved durind Jones' appearance, they were still treated like animals and not as soldiers in a war who died for somebody elses vengence.

  12. They were enslaved and Napolean became and turned into something that the other animals thought that they were finished with which was a dictator

  13. i dont think this was a threat at all because the animals like the liberty of not being controlled by Jones but somehow regret that he is gone.

    1. Yes,that is correct but I think that they kind of miss him because even though they were treated badly they knew they always had some work to get done

  14. I think that there was a threat when the animals were in control of the farm because: 1. Ihere was no way for them to get food if they actually ran out. 2. It becaume an Oligarchy that had the pigs in control of them. 3. There was no working together so the farm was not functioning properly. 4. There was fear of the pigs by all the other animalss on the farm.
